Ever since the time the video of the well-known singer Udit Narayan went viral, he has been trending all across the social media and how. For the unversed, the veteran singer Udit Narayan recently found himself at the centre of a controversy after a video of him kissing a female fan went viral on social media. In no time, the said video made its way to almost every possible platform.

While on one hand, Udit Narayan has been facing immense criticism, on the other hand, he has expressed his utmost wish to receive the Bharat Ratna (in an interview with Bollywood Hungama), which is in tune with his idol- the late Lata Mangeshkar.

In the said interview with Bollywood Hungama, when Udit Narayan was asked about his take on the viral video, he said (read ‘defended’) by saying that “Have I ever done anything to bring shame to myself, my family, or my country? Then why would I do something now at this stage of my life when I have achieved it all?"

When he was asked about the entire episode, Udit Narayan said (in the same interview) "No, not at all! Why should I be? Do you hear any regret or sorrow in my voice? In fact, I am laughing as I talk to you,"

He added that it was not something sleazy or secret and that it was there in the public domain. He also said that his heart was pure and that if some people wanted to see something dirty in his act of pure affection, then he felt sorry for them. In the same breath, he also stated that he also wanted to thank them because now they’ve made him even more famous than he already was.

The prolific singer that he is, went onto says that he was the recipient of several Filmfare Awards, National Awards, Padma Shri, and Padma Bhushan and that he aspires to get the Bharat Ratna, like his idol Lataji (the late Lata Mangeshkar).
