Even though "Deadpool 3" is still over a year away from hitting theatres, the film is already creating buzz thanks to Hugh Jackman's recent revelations. The iconic actor who immortalised Wolverine on the screen spoke candidly about reprising his role and the exciting dynamics that await fans in the highly anticipated sequel.

In a recent appearance on the Empire Film Podcast, Jackman didn't hold back when expressing the tension between his character, Wolverine, and the merc-with-a-mouth, Deadpool, famously played by Ryan Reynolds. Jackman provided an intriguing peek into the tumultuous relationship between the two superheroes in the upcoming movie.

"I'm just talking from my perspective," Jackman began. "Logan is frustrated by Deadpool, wants to be as far away from him as possible, or wants to punch him in the head." As it turns out, Wolverine will not have the luxury of distance in "Deadpool 3". Jackman teased, "Unfortunately, he can't be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I'm probably going to punch him in the head a lot."

However, it's not just the on-screen rivalry that Jackman discussed. The multi-talented actor, who is currently juggling a demanding performance schedule in the Broadway musical "The Music Man", also shared the difficulties of preparing for the physically challenging role of Wolverine amidst his busy work calendar.

Jackman candidly admitted, "I'm doing eight shows a week right now, so I'm only lifting weights three times a week," a schedule that is notably less intense compared to his usual routine when preparing for the Wolverine role. Despite these constraints, he remains committed to being in the best shape for the part, asserting his plan to intensify his training once his current commitment concludes.

This will mark Jackman's return to the Wolverine character after the poignant and finalistic ending in the 2017 film, "Logan". However, fans need not worry about any timeline disruptions. Marvel's frequent usage of time travel has allowed Jackman to reassure fans that Wolverine's appearance in "Deadpool 3" would not interfere with the events leading up to "Logan".

"All because of this device they have in the Marvel world of moving around timelines," Jackman clarified during a recent interview on The Jess Cagle Show. "Now we can go back because it's 'science,' and so I don't have to screw with the 'Logan' timeline, which was important to me, and I think probably to the fans, too."

As November 2024 inches closer, audiences worldwide can anticipate a thrilling face-off between Wolverine and Deadpool, loaded with tension, punches, and undoubtedly, the sharp, signature humour that has endeared fans to both characters over the years.
