Jacqueline Fernandez was in touch with conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar via video calls from Tihar Jail post his arrest?

Of late, Jaqueline Fernandez has been in news for her connection with jailed conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar in a money laundering case. The actress was summoned by Enforcement Directorate on several occasions to record her statement in the case. The latest report revealed that Sukesh contacted Jacqueline from Tihar jail through her hairdresser in 2021.

According to a source close to ED, Sukesh introduced himself to Jacqueline as an owner of a TV network and a jewellery brand. He also said that he is close to Home Minister Amit Shah. The actress told investigators that she was not aware of Sukesh’s actual identity and that he is calling her from jail. She met him only twice while he was out of jail on parole.

Jacqueline also stated that whenever she would ask for a meeting in person, he would say he was stuck due to Covid restrictions. Sukesh, however, was in constant touch with her through video calls. According to her, he used to make calls from the office space that he had created inside Tihar jail. Also, when she read about him in news and asked about it, she was told that he was implicated in a false case and such things keep happening with big businessmen.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline denied dating Sukesh at the time several pictures of them went viral on the internet. In April, ED attached worth ₹7.27 crore of the actress in the case registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a Rs 200 crore extortion case involving Sukesh. Jacqueline also confessed to having been receiving extravagant gifts from him before the ED. Last year, she was stopped by the probe agency to fly abroad after a lookout circular was issued against her.

On the professional front, Jacqueline will next be seen in Ram Setu alongside Akshay Kumar and Nushrratt Bharuccha. She also has Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus, and Kick 2 in the pipeline.
