Jacqueline Fernandez's lawyer issues statement post her name appearing on Rs 200 crore extortion case charge sheet, says 'she was a victim'

    Jacqueline Fernandez’s personal life has not been a rosy affair ever since her name was dragged into the alleged Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Reportedly, it has been claimed that the actress was in a relationship with the con man and shockingly her name has recently come up in the charge sheet of the case that was given by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

    Jacqueline Fernandez ’s personal life has not been a rosy affair ever since her name was dragged into the alleged Rs 200 crore extortion case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar . Reportedly, it has been claimed that the actress was in a relationship with the con man and shockingly her name has recently come up in the charge sheet of the case that was given by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Now Jacqueline’s lawyer Prashant Patil has released a statement wherein he has particularly stressed the fact that his client was a victim and not an accused in the case.

    According to a news report in Pinkvilla, Jacqueline Fernandez’s lawyer gave a written statement wherein he mentioned how he and his client came to know about the charge sheet through the media reports. The lawyer added that he and his client are disappointed on receiving no prior communication from the Enforcement Directorate if the media reports are indeed true, considering that Jacqueline has been extremely cooperative in the case. Prashant Patil also maintained that the Jaane Kahaan Se Aayi Hain actress is a victim in this case and has been cheated and conned by Sukesh Chandrashekhar, not having to do anything with the extortion racket.

    The report quoted Jacqueline Fernandez’s lawyer’s statement stating, “Taking the entire prosecution case to be true for the sake of arguments, even then, no case is made out against Jacqueline under the scheme of Prevention of Money Laundering Act or any other Law in force. This is a case of malafide prosecution and my client shall take steps as required under law to protect her dignity and liberty.”

    The report furthermore added that the response of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is now awaited after this statement from Jacqueline Fernandez’s lawyer. Meanwhile, on the work front, Jacqueline will be soon seen in Ram Setu . The movie will have her star alongside Akshay Kumar.
