Ranveer Singh ’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar which was released into the theatres on May 13 is, unfortunately, failing to have a ‘Jordaar’ impact when it comes to the box office collections. After having a poor opening on its first day, the movie has failed to witness an improvement in its Saturday and Sunday box office collections. The movie has been helmed by debutant director Divyang Thakkar .

According to a news report in India Today, Jayeshbhai Jordaar earned Rs 4.45 crore at the box office on its third day. The total collections now stand at Rs 11.70 crore. The report further stated that the Ranveer Singh starrer had a 17.64 percent occupancy on Sunday (May 15).

The movie is expected to face an even tougher storm now post the weekend where there will be no room for improvement. Jayeshbhai Jordaar will be facing competition from Kartik Aaryan ’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Kangana Ranaut starrer Dhaakad, both of which are movies with a higher buzz and promotional strategies than Ranveer Singh’s film. It will be interesting to witness if the movie shows any sign of growth in the coming days.

The movie also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani , and Ratna Pathak Shah in the lead roles. Jayeshbhai Jordaar revolves around the ill effects of female foeticide and the oppression of women. The movie has been bankrolled by Yash Raj Films .

Desimartini’s review for Jayeshbhai Jordaar read, “Ranveer Singh once again steers the ship in an efficient manner. The man is truly a chameleon who can delve deep into the nuances of his character. Be it pretending to hit his wife or threatening to castrate himself, it will be safe to say that the actor delivers a ‘Jordaar’ act with this one. He also nails the Gujarati accent to the T without sounding caricaturish at all. Shalini Pandey makes an impressive debut with this one even though her timid expressions seemed very one-note but that was only because of the manner, in which her character was written. Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah do full justice to their characters and there is never a dull moment with them on-screen.”
