Shahid Kapoor starrer Jersey had released at the box office on April 22 but with a slow start minting only Rs 3.7 to 4 crore. While the film was expected to regain its pace due to the positive reviews but it has rather showcased a major downfall on its fourth day. The total collections now stand at only Rs 15 crore.

Jersey saw quite a major dip on Monday (April 25). The collections of the Shahid Kapoor film went down by 45 to 50 percent and now the total four-day collection amounts to Rs 16.45 crore. Things were expected to be favorable for the film since it was showing a slight growth on Sunday (April 24).

According to the early box office reports, Jersey only managed to collect Rs 1.70 crore to Rs 1.8- crore on Monday. If this poor performance of the Shahid Kapoor starrer continues, then the total collections will only come to Rs 20 crore which will make the film a major flop. It is crystal clear that the movie has been completely overthrown by Yash ’s KGF : Chapter 2 which is taking the box office by storm.

Jersey might also be removed from the theatres by next Friday owing to the upsetting performance. The movie will be quickly replaced by Ajay Devgn ’s Runway 34 and Tiger Shroff starrer Heropanti 2. The film was expected to do well on its opening day with estimates ranging from Rs 6 to 7 crores.

But it rather opened up to a disappointing response. However, the critics have positively received Shahid Kapoor’s act in the same. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor in pivotal roles.

An news report in Box Office India had mentioned, “Jersey had a low opening day of around 3.75-4 crore net and the collections of the film did not jump much in the evening. Obviously, they were better than compared to the morning and afternoon shows but they did not propel the film to a higher level which was needed as the start was low. Again, this film will be another test for the box office as it’s a Saturday film but post the pandemic these types have found it tough going.”
