    John Abraham unveils intriguing first look of Ek Villain Returns as Mohit Suri's original Ek Villain clocks 8 years

    After eight years, Mohit Suri ’s 2014 Ek Villain is returning with the second installment titled Ek Villain Returns with a brand new storyline and star cast. While John Abraham is playing the titular role of ruthless antagonist in the upcoming film. Aditya Roy Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor , Tara Sutaria , and Disha Patani are featured in prominent roles.

    On Monday, John unveiled his first look character poster on Twitter while announcing the release date of the movie. The intriguing poster features John in an intense avatar holding a smiley mask with blood stains over it. Alongside it, he wrote, “In the world of Villains, Heroes don't exist! And #EkVillain is back after 8 years. Beware #EkVillainReturns on 29th July 2022”

    Directed by Mohit Suri, the day also marks the eighth anniversary of the original film-Ek Villain which starred Sidharth Malhotra , Shraddha Kapoor , Riteish Deshmukh, and Aamna Sharif in the pivotal roles. Celebrating the franchise, the makers have unmasked the villain of the upcoming second installment which is touted to have high-octane action sequences.

    The film was earlier scheduled to be released on July 8. Due to some reasons, the makers have postponed the release. Earlier, Suri took to Twitter and shared a teaser poster, with the caption, "#EkVillainReturns gets a new release date, 29th July 2022 (sic)." The film is set to clash with Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh starrer slice-of-life drama Thank God . Written and directed by Inder Kumar, the film also stars Ajay Devgn in the pivotal role.

    After wrapping up the shooting in March, Suri had earlier said that it is his dream project. “It has been an incredible journey since day one and all of us had a great time. As we wrap the shoot, I cannot wait to begin the next phase of the production and have the audience watch the final product. I had the best time working the entire cast, and the same has been reflected on screen." The film is jointly produced by T-Series and Balaji Telefilms.
