Jugjugg Jeeyo box office day 7: Varun Dhawan-Kiara Advani starrer hits half-century, mints Rs 51.8 cr

    The family drama Jugjugg Jeeyo starring Varun Dhawan , Kiara Advani , Anil Kapoor , and Neetu Kapoor is holding strong at the box office. On Thursday, the film entered the Rs 50 crore club, taking the worldwide collection to Rs 85 crore as per reports.

    Ever since the movie was released on June 29, it has been receiving raving reviews from audiences and critics alike. The film managed to collect Rs 36.93 on its opening weekend, but, its earnings declined on its first Monday. However, the film had a steady run registering Rs 47.6 crore till Wednesday. As per early estimates, on Thursday the film earned between Rs. 3.25 – 3.30 cr, taking the total collection to Rs. 51.80 cr at the domestic box office. As per Pinkvilla, the overseas gross stands at Rs 24 crore ($3 million), and all India gross at Rs 61.5 crore, which makes the first week worldwide gross total stand at Rs 85 crore.

    In just first week, the film has taken over the lifetime India collection of Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Paandey of Rs 49.98 crores. It is being predicted that the film will comfortably cross the Rs. 100 cr worldwide mark over the second weekend. If the second week remains steady, the film may emerge as the fourth-highest Hindi grosser of the year, among The Kashmir Files , Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and Gangubai Kathiawadi.

    Jugjugg Jeeyo deals with the complexities of modern-day relationships. It follows the story of two couples in the family who are heading for divorce. Directed by Raj Mehta and produced by Karan Johar ’s Dharma Production, the comedy-drama also stars Maniesh Paul, Prajakta Kohli, Varun Sood , and Tisca Chopra. According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film was shown on 3375+ screens in India and 1014+ overseas, for a worldwide total of 4389+ screens.
