It seems like trouble is brewing for the upcoming family entertainer Jugjugg Jeeyo just a few days ahead of its release. A case of copyright infringement has been filed against the makers of the movie in Ranchi. The film stars Varun Dhawan , Kiara Advani , Anil Kapoor , and Neetu Kapoor in the lead roles.

Talking about the same, according to a news report in BollywoodLife, a Ranchi-based writer named Vishal Singh has filed a case of copyright infringement against Karan Johar ’s Dharma Productions and Viacom 18. Vishal stated that some contents of his movie Bunny Rani have been used in Jugjugg Jeeyo. Furthermore, Singh alleged that the makers have given him no credit for the same.

The report further added that a commercial court in Ranchi has asked the makers of Jugjugg Jeeyo to screen the movie in front of the court. Not only this but writer Vishal Singh has demanded a royalty of Rs 1.5 crore as compensation from the makers of the movie. It is now to wait and see, what will be the verdict of the court just four days before the release of the movie. Check out some chain of tweets that were earlier shared by the writer.

Meanwhile, apart from this, the makers of Jugjugg Jeeyo were also embroiled in legal trouble earlier after Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq accused them of plagiarizing his song ‘Nach Punjaban.’ The singer had stated on social media, “I have not sold my song “ Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all. @DharmaMovies @karanjohar." However, the music label behind Jugjugg Jeeyo responded to the allegations by stating, “We have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song #NachPunjaban released on iTunes on 1st January 2002 & available on Lollywood Classics' YouTube channel, owned by @1Moviebox, for #JugJuggJeeyo produced by @DharmaMovies".
