It appears that Kamal Haasan may be stepping down as the host of the Tamil version of the reality show Bigg Boss after hosting the show for the last 6 six seasons.

According to the report, the reason for the actor's departure is so that he can concrete more on his upcoming film commitments.

2022 was a massive comeback for the actor thanks to Director Lokesh Kanakaraj's Vikram, the second installment in the Lokesh Cimnatci Universe(LCU).

The movie was a critical and commercial success and went on to become the second-highest-grossing Tamil movie of the year.

The actor is also going to reprise his role as agent Vikram, in its two planned sequels as well as possible cameos in the other projects set in LCU.

Currently, the actor is busy filming director Shankar's Indian 2 , which had been stuck in development hell since 2020.

The sixth season of Bigg Boss is currently underway and Kamal Hassan is planning to announce his departure from the show during the grand finale on January 2023.

According to a report by Indiaglitz, the producers of the show offered the actor a massive increase in his fees to return for the seventh reason but the actor turned it down.

The report states that the actor found his role as the host of Bigg Boss to be monotonous and the fact that the rating for the show has dropped significantly recently played a big role in his decision.

Meanwhile, the first teaser for Indian 2 is set to drop by the end of the year, the movie is a sequel to the 1996 film Indian blockbuster Indian.

Kamal Hasan will be reprising his role as the vigilante Senapathy aka Indian. The rest of the cast includes Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, and Guru Somasundaram.

Indian 2 is expected to hit theaters worldwide in early 2023.
