Karan Johar pens emotional note on Father's Day: There isn’t a day I don’t thank the universe for bringing Roohi and Yash into my life

Being a single parent, filmmaker Karan Johar marked Father’s Day with a heartwarming note thanking the almighty for blessing him with two adorable kids-daughter Roohi and son Yash . He revealed that the decision of becoming a single father could have never been made without his mother Hiroo Johar ’s support.

Sharing the string of photos of himself with his kids, Karan wrote, “A decision I could never have made from my heart if I didn’t have my mothers hand on my head and her relentless love,time and support…. She is the wind beneath our wings of love …. My bachas !!! What do I say there isn’t a day I don’t thank the universe for bringing Roohi and Yash into my life! Happy Father’s Day to me and to all single parents ! It doesn’t just take two to nurture ! It just takes one solid heart! I know mine is….❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏 pictures courtesy.”

To note, Karan welcomed twins Roohi and Yash through surrogacy on February 7, 2017. He named her daughter Roohi after the arrangement of his mother's name Hiroo. While his son Yash was named after his late father Yash Johar. He announced his parenthood in March with an official statement that read, “I am ecstatic to share with you all the two most wonderful additions to my life, my children and lifelines; Roohi and Yash. I feel enormously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of medical science.”

Ever since the filmmaker embraced fatherhood, he has been treating his fans with cute pictures and videos of his little munchkins on social media. Most recently, Karan revealed what gifts Roohi and Yash gave him on his 50th birthday. He said that both performed on Rishi Kapoor and Jaya Prada starrer 'Dafli Wale Dafli Baja', which eventually made him emotional.

"You know what my kids' present to me, they are five and half and they know how obsessed I am with 'Dafli Wale' as it goes back to my childhood. That song is a big part of my childhood. I am in love and obsessed with this song...So, when my children wanted to give me a present...I don't know who suggested it to them but they actually rehearsed on the steps of 'Dafli Wale' and they made me sit down and I had tears coming down my eyes,” he told Film Companion.

On the professional front, Karan is gearing up for his directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani which stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles. The film will mark his return to the director’s chair after six long years.
