    In a career spanning over two decades, Kareena Kapoor Khan has taken up an array of roles but she has been known best for the glamorous ones. The 41-year-old has now decided to chart a new course as she has partnered with Ekta Kapoor to produce a film that will be helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta . The actress recently revealed that she is playing a detective, a rookie cop in the upcoming yet-to-titled film, claiming that it will be a bold move for her.

    In an interview with a news portal, the Omkara actress said that it is time to change up the dynamics and do different things. The actress has collaborated with Hansal Mehta and then will be doing a female-centric film to be produced by Rhea Kapoor. She said that she can’t be stuck. Though she has never been someone only doing commercial, mainstream song-and-dance films. Well, after 22 years of working, she said one has to think of exploring different areas as there is no choice.

    Elaborating on her role in Hansal’s next, Kareena said that the filmmaker and she are from separate planets. With this collaboration, she believes that there is some pyrotechnics when two different universes collide. She said that she is a submissive actress and would like to immerse herself in the world of the movie, and Hansal can shape her as he wants. The film is all set to go on the floor in September in London.

Up next, she will be seen in Laal Singh Chaddha in the grittier role of Rupa alongside Aamir Khan. Directed by Advait Chandan, the film is an Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump. The film is scheduled to release on August 11. Besides it, the actress is also set to make her digital debut with Sujiy Ghosh’s The Devotion of Suspect X co-starring Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat.
