Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders to get a prequel? Here’s what we know
Last week saw the release of the Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders, a film that got critical acclaim and appreciation. Thanks to the flawless direction of Hansal Mehta, the diva that she is, Kareena Kapoor rocked even in the de-glam look. Even though the film ended on an extremely positive note, there were many who were wanting a sequel of the film. Well… it seems that the film’s director Hansal Mehta has got something in store for all the fans of the film as well as the diva Kareena Kapoor Khan.
As per a report in Mid Day, Hansal Mehta was asked If he had any plans of making a sequel to the film The Buckingham Murders. To which, much to everyone’s excitement, the film maker replied that he had a prequel for Jasmeet (which happens to be the character played by Kareena Kapoor in the film The Buckingham Murders).
The ace filmmaker also added that the film’s prequel will be touching and mirroring for Jasmeet and her life, which will also touch upon her origin (possibly hinting at a flashback) and also the circumstances and situations which made her the person that she is today.
And when Hansal Mehta was asked about the possibility of coming together with the trio of him along with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ektaa R. Kapoor, he, without batting an eyelid, said that, there was no doubt in his mind (about the aforesaid collaboration). At the same time, in the same breath, he (Hansal Mehta) also added that, even though they come together, their intellectual property remains.
Recalling his working with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Ektaa R. Kapoor, the filmmaker said that working on the gritty thriller with them was rewarding and also that Ektaa had introduced him to Kareena, proving that he was able to convince the actor to star in the film. After reading the script for the film, she was immediately on board, and working with her was an absolute delight.
