Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 continues to have a strong hold on its fourth weekend despite new releases hitting screens. After achieving the Rs 100 crore and Rs 150 crore milestone, the horror-comedy is inching closer to entering the Rs 175 crore club. The film has earned around Rs 170 crore at the box office.

The Anees Bazmee directorial opened on a good note, raking in Rs 92.05 crore in its first week. The film continued its dream run for the consecutive two weeks grossing Rs 49.07 crore and Rs 21.04 crore in the second and third week respectively, crossing Rs 150 crore mark at the box office. Unaffected by the release of Akshay Kumar ’s Samrat Prithviraj , Kamal Haasan ’s Vikram, and the latest release Janhit Mein Jaari , its film continued making moolah at the box office.

The film has surpassed SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Allu Arjun ’s Pushpa in terms of its fourth-week Sunday collection. The overall collection now stands at Rs. 171.17 crore at the box office. It is predicted that the film could close the gap to Rs 200 crore by the end of its fifth week running. The film has also emerged to be Kartik’s all-time highest fourth weekend grosser, surpassing his previous releases including Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety, Pati Patni Aur Woh , and Luka Chuppi among others.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is a standalone sequel to Priyadarshan’s 2007 film of the same name. Besides Kartik, the film also features Kiara Advani , Tabu , Rajpal Yadav , and Sanjay Mishra in prominent roles. The film was released alongside Kangana Ranaut ’s action drama titled Dhaakad on May 20. In the review of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Desimartini wrote, “The original stands irreplaceable but the sequel definitely shatters the fear that the fans had. The Anees Bazmee directorial will never leave a dull moment for you and it's inevitably Tabu who is the crowning star of this one.”
