KL Rahul's 'personal leave' application with the BCCI gives away his wedding dates with girlfriend Athiya Shetty

Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul ’s wedding rumours have been going around for some time now. While the cricketer and the actress came out as a couple last year, their wedding which was earlier reported to be taking place in December is now taking place in January 2023.

Suniel Shetty had confirmed that a wedding is indeed on the cards for the couple not many days ago and now the recent update on the subject is that the cricketer has applied for a leave of absence with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and has been granted the same.

According to a report in News 18, the Indian cricket team’s wicketkeeper and opener has sought a week long ‘personal leave’ in the first week of January and it is believed that it is during this time that he will marry his long-time girlfriend, Athiya Shetty.

KL Rahul will be resuming his position on the Indian team for the upcoming Bangladesh Tour, he is expected to be back in time for wedding preparations as the tour concludes on December 26.

An official confirmation on the Athiya and RL Rahul’s wedding dates is still awaited but, in an interview, earlier, the actress’s father Suniel Shetty confirmed that an announcement will be made at the right time.

Reports have earlier suggested that KL Rahul and Athiya plan to tie the knot at Suniel Shetty’s lavish Khandala bungalow, Jahaan. It was also suggested a few months ago that the wedding preparations are already underway at Suniel Shetty’s home and a wedding planner also seems to be make frequent visits to put all the wedding plans into action.

Athiya and KL have been in a relationship for over three years now and speculation about their relationship began over social media posts they shared for one another. The couple is no longer denying their relationship or keeping it a secret after officially appearing as a couple at the premiere of Tadap last year.
