Koffee With Karan 7: Ranveer Singh calls out Karan Johar for nepo bias; latter asks ‘kya karloge?’

Back in 2017, actress Kangana Ranaut made headlines when she graced the couch of Karan Johar ’s chat show Koffee With Karan and referred to him as the flag bearer of nepotism. Ever since then, the word has stayed with the filmmaker and he has been accused of encouraging nepotism several times. Well, the topic came up once again last night on the first episode of season 7. Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh , who are working in KJo’s next film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani , kick-started the season and things got pretty competitive.

This year the filmmaker has given his rapid fire round a unique new twist-- there is a group of audience sitting on set who vote and decide the winner. Ranveer won this round by a huge margin, so Alia tried to make up for it in the game round. The two gave each other tough competition as they answered questions and called other celebs to say ‘Hey Karan it’s me’. But in the end Alia was announced as the winner. Ranveer could not believe the result as he felt he had done really well. The actor was in shock as he said, “How did this happen? I felt like I did better throughout.”

When KJo explained how Alia did well, Ranveer quipped, “It's cool though. I know this is Koffee With Karan. There's a nepo bias. Its fine, I was expecting.” As Karan went to congratulate Alia with a hug, she called Ranveer a ‘sore loser’. Seeing this, the Befikre actor stated, “Oh! Look at this, Hum Saath Saath Hain.” Karan smiled and replied, “Haan toh hain! Kya kar loge?” But Ranveer was ready with a comeback. He hit back by saying, “Kya kar sakte hain sir? Kya hi kar sakte hain.. thoda aur struggle karna padhta hai aur kya.”

Once again, Ranveer has managed to leave the audience speechless! We can’t help but wonder how Kangana would react to this.
