    There was a time when audiences used to eagerly wait for Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan ’s movies, because with each new story he had something unique and different to offer. Like in Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par and Rang De Basanti. In Laal Singh Chaddha , his latest release, he aimed to wow fans once again. The Hindi remake of Forrest Gump, his film also featured Kareena Kapoor Khan as his love interest along with Mona Singh as Laal’s on-screen mother. Sadly, this time his masterpiece failed to impress the audience.

    While some were not impressed with the story, several others jumped on the train to boycott Laal Singh Chaddha because of statements made by the actor in the past which were considered to be ‘anti-national’. There are some who have appreciated his film and have also written emotional reviews on it. A few referred to it as ‘heartwarming’ and ‘wholesome’. However, the Aamir starrer has ended up becoming a box office bomb. According to a report shared by Bollywood Hungama, this has left Aamir in a state of shock.

    A close friend of the superstar was quoted saying, “Aamir had worked really hard to make the best version of Forrest Gump possible. The rejection has hit him very hard.” What is he planning to do now? Well, the report suggests that as a co-producer he has decided to partially compensate for heavy losses incurred by the distributors. So far, on day 4, Laal Singh Chaddha has collected Rs 37 crore. Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan, which also became a victim of the boycott trend, released on the same day and stands at a total collection of Rs 28 crore at the moment.
