Man of Steel 2 starts trending as DC fans restart campaign to bring back Henry Cavill

With the success of the fan Campaign #RestoreTheSynderVerse, DC fans have turned their attention to Man of Steel 2, with fans writing to Warner Bros to kick start the project.

While there are a few Superman-related projects in development in the studio, they do not involve fan-favorite Henry Cavill. Despite some of the criticism that Snyder's Man of Steel received one thing everyone agreed on was that Cavill did a great job as Superman.

The actor would reprise his role in Batman V Superman and Justice League , with rumors even saying that he was said to appear in Dwayne Johnson 's upcoming Black Adam. But unfortunately, this is unlikely to happen as the studio has said they would like to use Wonder Woman instead.

One tweet that helped ignite the campaign was thanks to a tweet by @theSnyderKnight, who asked fans which sequel they would like to see Batman 2 or Man of Steel 2 next.

While Robert Pattinson Batman sequel did receive support, it was Man of Steel that had the overwhelming majority.

Currently, there is a Superman spinoff starring Michael B. Jordan in the lead and will focus on the Val-Zod version of Superman, who is the adopted brother of Kal-el with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates reportedly working on the screenplay and will stream on HBO Max .

It seems unlikely that the studio would be announcing a sequel to Man of Steel anytime soon

Henry Cavill has expressed interest in returning to the role saying he believes there are a lot of future story elements with the character to explore and he still has his cape handy if he ever gets the call to return.

Last year in an interview with GQ the actor said, "I was very keen on really fleshing out Superman's early stages of his journey first."

He went on to add, "We had Man of Steel, and then we went quite a bit darker with Batman v Superman. And if he were to succumb to the Anti-Life Equation and become bad Superman [in Justice League sequels], I really wanted to make sure that we saw the hero Superman and we saw the true symbol of hope, the beacon of light, before we went down the path of darkness and then redemption. It's still something that I'm very keen to flesh out."

Only time will tell if we will see Man of Steel 2, till then DC fans will continue to push the studio and if history is anything to go by they just might get what get it.
