Mission Majnu star Sidharth Malhotra prefers real-life stories, says heroes he is playing in Yodha and Indian Police Force are fictional

Sidharth Malhotra is all about bring heroism to the big screen after having tasted success with Shershaah, where he played Kargil martyr Captain Vikram Batra in biopic released in 2021. The actor has a slew of releases ahead where he plays a patriot serving the nation with Mission Maju being next in line.

The much-awaited espionage thriller which is arriving on Netflix next week, will see the actor play an Indian spy in story inspired by another real-life incident. Set in the backdrop of the tension between India and Pakistan in the 1970’s, Sidharth hopes the film will launch the 2.0 version of his career.

In an interview with Mid-Day, Sidharth said he hopes that Mission Majnu strikes a chord with the audience like his much talked about biopic on Captain Vikram Batra, Shershaah, did. While the actor is all set to don a uniform in two more projects in the future, Yodha and Indian Police Force , the characters are not inspired from real heroes like Shershaah and Mission Majnu.

Voicing his personal preferences, Sidharth has said that he is more inclined towards bringing real-life stories to life than playing fictional characters. “In Yodha and Indian Police Force, I play fictional characters. I find it more engaging to play characters that are realistic, or inspired by real life,” he told the publication.

Mission Majnu also stars Pushpa actress Rashmika Mandanna who has already marked he debut in Bollywood with the movie Goodbye last year. Sidharth and Rashmika’s film is slated to arrive on Netflix on 19 January, 2023.

Apart from planning to set new milestones with his films this year, Sidharth also reportedly has a big event coming up in his personal life as reports claim that the actor will be marrying his Shershaah co-star and girlfriend Kiara Advani in February this year.
