Monica O My Darling: Rajkummar Rao, Radhika Apte & Huma Qureshi cite reasons to watch their comedy thriller, say 'Is kahaani mein bahut dum hai'

In times when Bollywood films are being boycotted for one or another reason, Rajkummar Rao and the team of Monica O My Darling came up with a unique introduction to their film. The upcoming comedy-thriller directed by Vasan Bala has an ensemble cast including Radhika Apte , Huma Qureshi , Sikander Kher, and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor among others. Recently, the makers dropped the first-look posters of the cast with a caption that read, ”Reason #286942 to watch #MonicaOMyDarling: Is kahaani mein bahut dum hai!”(There's a lot of power in this story)

Well, the upcoming movie may have a connection to the said line, but going with negativity around Bollywood films, the introductions seems quite apt. In the first look poster, Rajkummar Rao peeks out of the window. While Radhika Apte can be seen sitting on a bench seemingly talking to someone as she looks away from the camera. Huma Qureshi is seen posing in a hot red dress with one of her legs placed on a chair at the dining table. Sikander Kher is holding a drink as he is in a bar, while Akansha Ranjan Kapoor is dressed in striped black and white co-ord set and looks straight to the camera. Have a look:

Earlier, the makers dropped the announcement teaser in which they offered glimpses of everyone’s character. In the brief 36-second video clip that started with the 'Piya Tu Ab Toh Aaja' track, the behind-the-scenes shots of the cast and crew were shared. Sharing the first look on Instagram, Rajkummar wrote, "Monica, O My Darling is now filming Here’s a look at what everyone’s bringing to the table! We can’t wait for you to see this."

Monica O My Darling is a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix. As per the official synopsis shared by OTT giant, the upcoming film is “a black comedy and white-collar crime collide in which a young man desperately tries to make it big with some unlikely allies and a dastardly diabolical plan to pull off the perfect murder.” Produced by Matchbox Shots, the film is set to arrive soon on Netflix.
