    After ruling the Telugu film industry, actor Naga Chaitanya is foraying into Hindi cinema with Aamir Khan ’s Laal Singh Chaddha . The actor has a small role with a screen time of about 20-30 minutes in the film which is an Indian adaptation of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. He plays a South Indian character named Balaraju Bodi who befriends Laal Singh(Aamir) during the Kargil war. In a recent interview, Naga opened up about how his role holds significance in the upcoming movie.

    “It’s a very special character. I am not there visually throughout the film from start to end but when I was approached, they told me it’s not a lead role. But when I heard the script, what I found is the essence of my character, the purpose travels throughout the film. I am there for about 20-30 minutes with Aamir sir. But till the end, you will find my purpose travelling through him.” Naga was quoted as saying to BollywoodHungama.

    The Thank You actor joined the team when nearly 75 percent of the film was in place. He also said that he doesn’t mind entering Bollywood with a supporting role. He said, “Me coming into Bollywood with this kind of a debut being supported by Aamir sir, being groomed by the team and Advait all of them. I didn’t mind being introduced like this. So, it will always stay very special.”

    Laal Singh Chaddha revolves around the life of a simple man named Laal Singh Chaddha and his extraordinary journey. While Aamir plays the titular role, Kareena Kapoor Khan features as his love interest in the film. The film also has Mona Singh, who essays Aamir’s mother. Written by Atul Kulkarni, and directed by Advait Chandan, the film is set to hit theatres on August 11.
