Neha Dhupia- Angad Bedi name their son Guriq, reveal the meaning of the name

Actor-couple Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi on Saturday said they have named newborn son Guriq Singh. The couple, who have a two-year-old daughter Mehr, had announced the birth of their second child on October 3 last year. Dhupia shared a candid picture of the newborn on her official Instagram page and revealed the name of the baby. "Our baby boy Guriq #GuriqSinghDhupiaBedi @guriqdhupiabedi... #satnamwaheguru" the 41-year-old actor wrote.

Sharing a video of him playing with his son, Angad, 38, referred to the toddler as their lion king. "Guriq Singh!!!!! Our lion king @guriqdhupiabedi #guriqsinghdhupiabedi #guriq pyaar naal you can call him Bedi Sahaab," Angad, who is the son of former Indian cricket captain Bishan Singh Bedi, posted.

Talking to HT, Neha Dhupia had said, “Guriq means one with God. One from God and saviour of the world. It is a different name and we love it, even the spelling is beautiful and unusual. The credit for the name goes to the mother, and the credit for the spelling goes to the father [Angad].”

She also added that the toddler's pet name is 'koala'. She revealed, “Before the delivery, when we were preparing Mehr that she would soon have a baby sister or a baby brother, she suddenly started calling the baby, Koala. Even now, she calls him that. That’s his pet name given by his loving sister. We also keep calling him, koala bear. We love it because she stuck by the original, and we came up with the name much later.”

The couple had tied the knot in May 2018 in a private ceremony.
