Nesippaya: Director Vishnuvaradhan spills the beans on the plot, says it's more than just a love story
Shershaah-fame director Vishnuvaradhan said that his upcoming Tamil film Nesippaya is more than just a romantic drama.

Following his successful Bollywood debut with the National Award-winning 2021 film Shershaah, Vishnuvaradhan is making a comeback to Tamil cinema with his upcoming project Nesippaya. For the unversed, his last Tamil film Yatchan was released in 2015 and was led by Arya and Kreshna. Nesippaya stars Akash Murali and S. Shankar’s daughter Aditi Shankar in the lead roles.

In a recent interview, the director spoke at length about the film and spilled the beans on what the storyline is all about. He revealed that his upcoming film Nesippaya is more than just a romantic drama. According to the director, the film will narrate the present view on relationships among youngsters. He further explained that he has ‘tried to understand what people of today think’ and said that he has addressed all kinds of relationship dilemmas people go through in this film. Interestingly, a recent film that was made on a similar theme was Manikandan-starrer Lover.
Speaking of the newcomer Akash Murali, who is the brother of actor Atharvaa Murali, the director revealed that the debut star has ‘got the innocence and aggression’ for his role. He further said that the newbie was all fresh and being himself in the film.
Nesippaya lead cast
Director Vishnuvaradhan had earlier released the first look poster of the film, starring Akash Murali and Aditi Shankar. Introducing Aditi as Diya and Akash as Arjun, the new posters promise a heartwarming romantic tale. Nesippaya is bankrolled by Xavier Britto of XB Film Creators, who previously made Vijay's Master in 2021.
Besides the lead cast, the film also stars Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Kushboo Sundar, Kalki Koechlin, and Shiv Panditt in supporting roles. On the technical front, the movie features Om Prakash and Cameron Bryson as cinematographers, while Sreekar Prasad serves as the editor. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music for the film.
The shooting of the film has been wrapped up, and as per reports, the film has entered post-production. The release date of the movie is yet to be announced.
