Nick Jonas opens up about his Indian nicknames 'Nickua', 'Nick jiju' after getting married to Priyanka Chopra

Ever since Nick Jonas got married to Priyanka Chopra, the Indian paparazzi has addressed him as ‘Nick Jiju’. In his recent visit to the inauguration of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, the paps even called him ‘nickua’. However, the singer feels great to have many such nicknames in India.

Nick recently opened up about his nicknames while talking about his version of the song Maan Meri Jaan, with King. When asked how he feels about photographers calling him weird names in India, he told BBC, “A lot of people do (call me jiju). All the photographers (at the NMACC launch) on the red carpet were calling me jiju.” Reacting to ‘Ae Nickua’, he said, “Yes, I did hear that. It was very good to be back. I love India. It has been a couple of years since I’ve been there because of Covid, so this was a really fun trip. So yes, great to hear the many nicknames I have now.”

Further, Nick revealed that Priyanka helped him learn the Hindi lyrics of the song. He also added that her friends decided to teach him all the bad phrases when he first got there. For the unversed, Nock and Priyanka tied the knot in both Hindu and Christian wedding ceremonies at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan in December 2018. They welcomed their first child, daughter Malto Marie Chopra Jonas in January 2022 via surrogacy. Recently, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, Nick heaped praises on Priyanka and dropped a cute video of her with Malti. “Happy Mother’s Day my love. You are an incredible mother. You light up me and MM’s world every day.” he captioned his post.

Meanwhile, Nick recently made a cameo appearance in Priyanka's Hollywood release, Love Again. The film stars Sam Heughan as the male lead. Directed by James C Strouse, the film couldn’t perform well at the box office.
