Nikamma trailer: Shilpa Shetty turns villain in jobless Abhimanyu Dassani's life until he becomes the hero

The trailer of Abhimanyu Dasani’s much delayed Nikamma is here and the film promises to be a mix of romance, comedy, action and family drama. The movie is a remake of the 2017 Telugu hit Middle Class Abbayi which starred Sai Pallavi, Bhumika Chawla and Nani in leading roles. The Hindi remake has been helmed by Heroptani, Baaghi fame Sabbir Khan and stars Shilpa Shetty and Shirley Setia along with Abhimanyu.

Abhimanyu plays a guy whose life is constant party from Monday to Sunday until his ‘Thunder woman meets Manjulika’ sister-in-law played by Shilpa Shetty becomes the villain of his life ordering him around the house and giving him mundane jobs to keep him busy.

This hero also finds love in Shirley who going the by the story of the original will be seen playing Shilpa’s sister in the film.

Nikamma’s trailer makes a full 180 degree turn as this jobless hero turns his family saviour. When a local goon threatens the life of his sister-in-law, this Nikamma turns action hero to save the day.

The trailer of Nikamma is comical and full of action and Abhimanyu Dasani promises to live up to both parts equally. Shilpa has been introduced in a rather comical avatar in the trailer and seems to have a chunky role in the film which fans will hopefully get to explore more in the film. Singer turned actress Shirley promises a dazzling debut in films with this one.

Nikamma is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 17 June after facing a nearly two year delay due the pandemic.

Films like Doctor G and Khuda Hafiz Chapter 2 are also lined up to release on the same date so looks like Nikamma also has ample competition at the box office.
