Patty Jenkins reportedly walked out of Wonder Woman 3 as things change under new management at DC Studios

Just when things are looking up at DC, a bombshell report by The Hollywood Reporter came out which sted that among many new changes to the future of The DCEU that Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins is no longer involved with the project.

According to the report by Deadline new studio heads James Gunn and Peter Safran weighed in on the new script for Wonder Woman 3 which fixed a lot of issues from Wonder Wonder 1984 submitted by Jenkins and asked her to make changes to align with the new vision for the DCEU.

But Jenkins stood her ground and defended her work and claimed the story arcs in the script are solid, they asked to rework the script but she refused and stepped away from the project.

As for Gal Gadot, it seems that she will continue playing Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman in the DCEU after the actress's recent tweet implied so.

According to the report by Deadline Patty Jenkins was not happy with the changes suggested to her and did not hold back in her response to Warner Bros.CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy

“know that they were wrong, that they didn’t understand her, didn’t understand the character, didn’t understand character arcs, and didn’t understand what Jenkins was trying to do.”

There were also rumors that plans for a Man of Steel with Henry Cavill have been dropped and that Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be the last time Jason Mamoa will be appearing as Aquaman in the DCEU and that he would be recast as antihero Lobo instead.

According to the report, the only projects in early development that are safe are Matt Revees Batman 2 and its spinoff as well Joker 2 and the Superman spinoff movie by Ta-Nehisi Coates.

James Gunn took to Twitter to address the report by THR and gave a detailed statement saying that implementing the new changes has not been an easy process and that some of the things addressed in the report are true and others only half true.

Currently, DC has four projects in its lineup they are Shazam! Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Blue Beetle and Aquaman, and The Lost Kingdom. DC fans will just have to hope and wait till James Gunn and Peter Safran unveil their plans to find out what the future actually holds.

The Next DCEU project hitting the big screen is Shazam! Fury of the Gods on 17 March 2023.
