Payal Rohatgi to invite Munawar Faruqui to her wedding reception, says 'have differences with ideologies not with human beings'

Payal Rohatgi is all set to take nuptial vows with her beau Sangram Singh on July 9 in Agra. The actress has planned to invite her co-contestants from Lock Upp to her Mumbai reception. Interestingly, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui is on the guest's list despite being her arch-rival on the reality show.

On the Lock Upp show, Payal and Munawar often engaged in fights and shared a rather strained relationship. In a recent media interaction, she stated that Munawar tried to earn his livelihood by making fun of her god, however, she holds no grudges now. “Sometimes when you stand for a thought process and someone hurts that thought process, I have a right to say that I am not happy with that. I have had differences with him as he tried to earn his livelihood by making fun of my God. As long as he doesn’t do that, I have no grievances with him. As I have differences with ideology not with human beings," she told Etimes.

Payal was close to winning the show, however, Munawar walked away with the winner’s trophy. She was often called the Badass contestant of the show in every way. However, just a few hours after the finale, she had shared Munawar’s throwback controversial videos where he can be seen cracking jokes on the song ‘Mera Piya Ghar Aya’ with reference to Lord Rama along with the Godhra riots. Payal furthermore took a dig at Munawar for being crowned as the winner despite making jokes allegedly on the Hindu Gods and riots.

Coming back to Payal’s wedding, She is tying the knot after being in a relationship for 12 years with Sangram. The wedding festivities have kick-started with the Mehendi ceremony that took place yesterday.
