Prithviraj - Blessy combo 'Aadujeevitham' gets an official release

Aadujeevitham has been one of the most anticipated Malayalam movies ever since its announcement five years ago. The movie marked the first collaboration between National Award-winning director Blessy and Prithviraj.

The movie faced many delays in its production due to the global pandemic but finally finished production a few months ago and now the movie has an official release date.

The movie will be hitting theaters worldwide this October, and while that is a long wait time for a movie that has wrapped production, the reason behind it is understandable.

Prithviraj and director Blessy have revealed that they want to promote the movie internationally, especially in Hollywood, and releasing the movie in October during the beginning of the award season makes sense.

In fact, the movie is expected to premiere at this year's Cannes Film Festival in May, alongside movies like Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon and Pedro Almodóvar's Strange Way of Life.

Aadujeevithum is a survival drama based on the 2008 novel by Benyamin and follows the journey of Najeeb, a Malayalee migrant in Saudi Arabia, who is forced into indentured labor.

The music for the movie is composed by Oscar winner A.R Raham, making it the third Malayalam movie the composer has worked on.

The cinematography for the movie has been handled by Sunil K. S. and K. U. Mohanan. The movie has been edited by nine-time National Award winner A. Sreekar Prasad.

As for Prithviraj, the actor has a lot of projects lined up for 2023, the first being the highly anticipated sequel to his 2019 directorial debut Lucifer.

The sequel title L2: Empuraan will officially begin shooting this August and will be shot in six foreign locations.

The cast of Aadujeevitham includes Prithviraj Sukumaran, Amala Paul, Jimmy Jean-Louis, and Rik Aby. The movie will hit theaters worldwide on October 21, 2023.
