Veteran actress Raveena Tandon recently came out in support of Bollywood amidst the severe backlash after Richa Chadha ’s tweet on the Indian armed forces. Ever since Richa had posted the now-deleted tweet, a large section of netizens were calling the entire Hindi film industry to be anti-national and their actions to be humiliating the Indian army. However, now Raveena has jumped in support of her film fraternity asking netizens to not generalize the entire industry.

The actress quoted a tweet that alleged that Bollywood has been funded through ISI money. To this, Raveena Tandon stated, “Dear @abhijitmajumder, Please do not club together all or generalize. This generates hate towards the Hindi film industry. All along there have been and are strong patriots in the industry who get thrown under the bus by a few and all good work done, is then met with spite and venom.” Take a look at the post.

Apart from this, the Akhiyon Se Goli Mare actress also rubbished the notion that Bollywood stars do not motivate or encourage the Indian armed forces. Raveena Tandon quoted a tweet of a netizen who stated the same and said, “Don’t think that’s true. Unfortunately, it’s always the negative that gets more attention. The Hindi film industry stands by on every occasion, from going to the war front, and uplifting the morale of soldiers, to fundraising for disasters, or donations. But that is not appreciated.” Take a look at the tweet.

However, the netizens weren’t convinced of Raveena Tandon’s statements and asked her to accept this shortcoming of Bollywood. A user said, “Dear @TandonRaveena Ji have some spine and we request you and your friends from Bollywood to condemn wrongdoings of Bollywood for once, please.” Another user said, “Agree, let’s not generalize the whole Industry, but most of you don't speak when our country needs you people... Do you think we are stupid?? we don't know how marketing PR works? That we don't know how negativity works, how her few words can bring the viewer to theatres?” The agitation against the Hindi film industry increased yet again after Richa Chadha’s tweet received severe backlash for its nature which many netizens alleged was an insult to the Indian army.
