Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani: Karan Johar ropes in Sriti Jha and Arjit Taneja in Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt's romantic drama
Earlier, Shraddha Arya, Arjun Bijlani and Jannat Zubair joined the cast of Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. The film is set to hit theatres on February 10.
Ever since Karan Johar 's next directorial Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani was announced, the expectation around the movie seems to go higher and higher. Not only the film has Bollywood biggies Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the cast, but it also has notable actors from the television industry. After Arjun Bijlani, Shraddha Arya, and Jannat Zubair, the filmmaker roped in Khatron Ke Khiladi fame Sriti Jha and Kumkum Bhagya actor Arjit Taneja in the ensemble cast.
Arjit shared the news with her fans on his Instagram handle with a picture of himself with Karan and Sriti. Alongside, he penned a grateful note that read, “Can’t help but Flaunt this. Just 14 hours of being directed by this Legend. It has been an overwhelming and humbling experience to say the least. Thank you @karanjohar @dharmamovies for making us a small part of this blockbuster in the making and to the whole team for being so generous. All the very best to all of you. #Gratitude.” Soon after, his industry colleagues Ravi Dubey, Avinash Mishra, and others congratulated the actors on the project.
Karan recently announced the wrap by sharing a fun video featuring himself with Ranveer, and other cast and crew members. Alongside he wrote, “It’s a talkie wrap on a piece of my heart...a Kahani that became a journey which I will hold close to me forever! I sat in the director chair after many years and it felt like coming home. We had legends and superstars on the set and in front of the camera - they were magic! Behind the camera, it was nothing short of magic either with my A-team, my pillars of strength. Thank you to everyone who worked tirelessly and passionately towards this kahani...I am forever grateful.”
Talking about Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, the upcoming film marks Karan’s return to the director’s chair after six years. Besides Ranveer and Alia, the film also has veteran actors Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan in prominent roles. Backed by Karan’s Dharma Productions, the film is set to release in cinemas on February 10.
