    After Kerala Story, director Sudipto Sen joined hands with producers Sandeep Singh and Dr Jayantilal Gada for a biopic on Subrata Roy, the business tycoon and founder of Sahara India Pariwar. On Saturday, the makers dropped the first motion poster announcing the biopic, in which a man could be seen holding a check. The makers did not reveal the face of the man who plays the titular role, leaving fans in wonder.

    Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the poster and a part of his caption read, “A top actor will portray #SubrataRoy on screen, the name will be revealed soon… #ARRahman will score music, while #Gulzar will pen the lyrics.” Soon after, the netizens spammed the comment section with wild guesses. A majority of social media users took the name of Rajkummar Rao. “Raj Kumar Rao hai ismein main lead actor” wrote the user. “Pankaj Tripathi or Pawan Malhotra would be suitable but they will hire some money making machine,” added another. “@rajkummar_rao perfect for this film,” added another.     Reportedly, the upcoming film will go on floors next year. It will be extensively shot across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, London, Kolkata, and Bihar. Presented by Legend Studios and Dr PEN Studios, the film will release in multiple languages including Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

    Talking about the upcoming biopic, Sudipto said, “Directing a biopic is always a challenging job for any filmmaker. Having AR Rahman, Gulzar, Sandeep Singh and Dr. Jayantilal Gada together for a film is something beyond big." Meanwhile, Sudipto recently directed The Kerala Story which features Adah Sharma in lead role. Though film sparked controversy, it became commercially successful amassing more than Rs 200 crore worldwide.
