Samantha Ruth Prabhu wanted the divorce and Naga Chaitanya agreed, reveals latter's father Nagarjuna Akkineni

Since last year, one thing that everyone has been talking about is Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's split. Considered as one of the IT couples of the Telugu industry, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya decided to part ways late last year, even though rumours of their rift had been doing the rounds for quite some time. What happened, and why they chose to part ways is something that is not yet known. This gave rise to several speculations as to what might have gone wrong and what was the reason behind the separation. Now, Naga Chaitanya's father, Nagarjuna Akkineni has opened up about it.

Talking to IndiaGlitz, Nagarjuna Akkineni has revealed that it was Samantha who opted for the divorce, and Chaitanya complied. He also added that the latter was worried about their family reputation and how Nagarjuna would react to the news. He said, "Naga Chaitanya accepted her (Samantha's) decision (of divorce) but he was much worried about me, what I would think and what would happen to the family's reputation. Both were so close and I don't know how it came down to this decision. They even celebrated 2021's New Year together, it seems that the problems have arisen after that."

In a recent interview, Naga Chaitanya had opened up about the divorce and had said, "It was a decision made for the good of both of us. If she (Samantha) is happy, I am happy. That was the best decision in that situation." Furthermore, the fact that Samantha deleted the announcement of their separation has also given rise to rumours that they might be looking at reconciliation. Well, we hope for the best for both Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
