Samrat Prithviraj: Home Minister Amit Shah praises the film, says 'it depicts Indian culture of respecting women'

    Akshay Kumar and the team of Samrat Prithviraj had organized a special screening of the film for Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday (June 1). He heaped praises on the historical drama which revolves around the courage and valor of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.

    Akshay Kumar and the team of Samrat Prithviraj had organized a special screening of the film for Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday (June 1). He heaped praises on the historical drama which revolves around the courage and valor of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan. The Home Minister along with Minister Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Anurag Thakur were present at the screening.

    Home Minister Amit Shah praised Samrat Prithviraj by stating that the movie depicts the Indian culture of respecting and empowering women. He further stated, “Samrat Prithviraj is not only the story of an unparalleled warrior who fought bravely for our motherland, but it also reflects the greatness of our culture. The film ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ depicts the Indian culture of respecting and empowering women. Our 1000 years of the fight have not been in vain, a cultural awakening started in India in 2014, and it will again take India to the heights it was once at. Overcoming many obstacles and difficulties, today India's pride, greatness, culture, and our ‘Swadharma’ have once again been restored to the same glory. I congratulate the entire team of Samrat Prithviraj, especially the creative Art direction of this film.”

    Earlier in a promotional event for the movie, Akshay Kumar had also spoken about the need for balancing the curriculum in the history books in schools wherein students need to be taught about Indian kings as they are taught about Mughals. The actor had said, “I am not saying that we should not read about Mughals... but balance it out (with teaching about Indian kings as well). They were great too. I would like to appeal to the education minister to look into this matter and see if we can change it,”

    Talking about Samrat Prithviraj, the film has been directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi. It is based on the poem,'Prithviraj Raso'. It also stars Manushi Chillar, Sonu Sood, and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles.
