Shabaash Mithu Trailer: Taapsee Pannu starrer Mithali Raj biopic is a tribute to the unsung story of 'Women In Blue'

The trailer of Taapsee Pannu ’s sports biographical drama Shabaash Mithu has finally been released. The actress steps into the shoes of former Indian Women’s Cricket Team captain Mithali Raj . The movie has been helmed by Srijit Mukherji and is slated to be released in the theatres on July 15.

Talking about the trailer of Shabaash Mithu, it opens with Taapsee Pannu as Mithali Raj showcasing her brilliance on the cricket field as the crowd cheers on. Mithali can then be seen saying how someone made her see a dream when she was 8 years of age that there will be an Indian Women’s Cricket Team aka ‘Women In Blue ’ one day. We then see some glimpses of Mithali from her childhood wherein she shows a promising talent in the sport of cricket.

Vijay Raaz who presumably plays her coach gives her an opportunity to hone her cricketing skills so that she can play at the National level. However, Mithali Raj is shown to be facing several obstacles at the Women’s Cricket Board but overcomes her fears by staying steadfast in the game. The trailer furthermore shows that despite becoming the captain, Mithali struggles to gain recognition for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team. Take a look at the same.

The trailer shows how the women’s cricket team does not get enough recognition and facilities like their male counterparts with people not even able to recall the names of female cricket players. Mithali Raj then decides to play along with her team so ferociously that people will never forget their identity. The trailer concludes with a reporter asking Mithali about her favorite male cricketer.
