Shah Rukh Khan finds a superhero fan in Ms. Marvel, his films and stardom receive a nod from the MCU in upcoming series
Shah Rukh Khan may not have entered the MCU himself yet, but his fandom sure has found a place in the upcoming superhero series Ms. Marvel.
Shah Rukh Khan seems to be again currency in the Marvel Cinematic Universe both with its stars and programming. After Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch expressed his desire to see the Bollywood superstar make an entry into the MCU films and called him ‘great’ during the promotions of his film, the actor has now found a superhero fan.
With diversity being the order of the day in MCU phase 4, the studio is all set to introduce its first South Asian superhero Ms. Marvel to fans in June. With the early reviews of the show coming in after two episodes of the series being shown to critics, it has been revealed that the Pakistani protagonist Kamala Khan will be shown in the show as a huge Shah Rukh Khan and Bollywood fan.
Variety critic, Courtney Howard’s tweet giving away details of Shah Rukh’s mention in the series is now going viral. She wrote, “They shout-out BAAZIGAR, DDLJ and SRK (“There’s no such thing as a bad Shah Rukh Khan movie”) in #MsMarvel episode 2 so *obviously* it’s the best Marvel series ever.”
If that isn’t enough, Bollywood’s own Farhan Akhtar stars in the series and so does Pakistani star Fawad Khan.
Iman Vellani plays Ms. Marvel in this soon to be released series where she plays Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teen who is a huge fan of Captain Marvel and wants to possess superpowers like her someday.
