Shahid Kapoor’s children don’t know what he does; actor remembers when he realized the importance of a family

Other than being a terrific actor and a graceful dancer, the handsome and very talented Shahid Kapoor is also a family man. He tied the nuptial knot with the beautiful Mira Rajput in 2015 in a private ceremony. The actor’s fans were pleasantly surprised that he opted for an arranged marriage. A year later the happily married couple welcomed their daughter Misha into the world. In 2018, the couple were blessed with a baby boy and decided to name Misha’s younger brother Zain. Well, having a family is important and Shahid realized this the day he received a big award before marriage.

In a chat with Zoom, the actor shared, “I remember there was this one time I won a really big award, and at that time, it really mattered to me. And it felt like I had nobody to share it with. I was alone, some people in my family were travelling, this was before I was married. So I was just riding in my car and I was like, ‘Yeh main kiske saath share karoon (Who do I share this with)?’ That day, it really dawned upon me. We run around, wanting to have personal achievements, but they mean nothing if you have nobody to share them with.”

He sure has come a long way in his personal life. Along with his star parents Pankaj Kapur , Neelima Azeem and his younger brother Ishaan Khatter , Shahid has a lovely wife today who is always there to celebrate his highs and support him in his lows. But what about his children? Well, Shahid revealed, “My kids still don’t know what I do most of the time, I like it like that. Mira will be like, ‘Dad finished something really important,’ and (imitates them clapping) they celebrate. That’s that.”

Up next, Shahid will be seen in the much awaited sports drama Jersey . It was slated to arrive in theatres on 31st January, but has now been pushed indefinitely due to the Omicron scare.
