On 6thFebruary this year, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar breathed her last at a hospital in Mumbai from multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Almost a month ago, she was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for coronavirus and being diagnosed with pneumonia. It was a sad day for the nation and the people of our country were devastated. Many well-known personalities attended the singer’s funeral later that day, to pay their last respects. Veteran actor Shakti Kapoor, who is married to Lata ji’s grand-niece Shivangi Kolhapure, was heartbroken. But he could not make it to the last rites as he was shooting outside the city in a bubble.

In a recent chat with Aaj Tak, Shakti remembered how his father had forgiven him for eloping with Shivangi after learning that she was related to Lata ji. The actor revealed that the couple had decided to run away together because Shivangi’s mother did not agree to their relationship. When his father Sikandarlal Kapoor found out about it, he decided not to speak to Shakti. The actor shared, “My mother asked him to meet the girl once. As soon as he saw Shivangi, who is 10-12 years younger to me, he was like badi pyaari bachhi hai.”
