Shamita on constant comparisons with Shilpa Shetty: ‘It has been a struggle for me & my sister knows my struggle’

It is often believed that if you are related to someone popular in the entertainment industry, making a mark will automatically get easy. However, that has not been the case for many younger siblings who have had to live under the shadows of their popular brothers or sisters in Bollywood. Shamita Shetty , who began her journey with the film Mohabbatein and recently participated in Bigg Boss 15 , has made her name in the industry with her talent and work. But that has sadly not stopped people from constantly comparing her to her actress sister Shilpa Shetty . Well, Shamita is glad that she got a chance to show her true personality to the audience through BB15.

In a chat with ETimes, Shamita expressed gratitude that the audience gave her a chance to play the game her way till the very end. Talking about how difficult it has been to make a mark in the industry with people comparing her to Shilpa, the actress shared, “A lot of people out there don’t understand how difficult it has been for me in the industry. They only want to believe that it is easy because I’ve someone in the industry. But they don’t understand that it is very difficult for a sibling to make their mark in the industry especially when there is constant comparison and a lot more expectations. And it has been a struggle for me and my sister Shilpa knows my struggle.”

Shamita went on to add that she is happy about the fact that she didn’t let the BB house change her personality. Well, that’s one reason why fans loved Shamita’s game so much. She played it with utmost dignity and grace till the very last day and did not let go of her values and principles. Not just the audience but even her mother Sunanda Shetty and sister Shilpa are incredibly proud of her.
