Actress Shraddha Kapoor ’s actor brother Siddhanth Kapoor had been detained by the Bengaluru police for alleged drug consumption on June 13. Siddhanth was arrested along with four others after a raid on a party at a Bengaluru hotel. Now the latest development suggests that he has been released on bail on Monday night.

Apart from Siddhanth Kapoor, the police authorities had reportedly arrested Harjot Singh, a logistics head at a startup, Akhil Soni, a business manager at a software company, Akhil who is a freelance photographer, and a digital marketing employee named Hani Rafeeque. Bheemashankar S Guled, the Deputy Commissioner Of Police (East) was quoted by The Indian Express to reveal, “All five have been released on station bail and will have to appear before the police as and when called.”

Reportedly, a police authority also stated that most of the people at the party were from North India and that Siddhanth Kapoor was a disc jockey at the event. Apart from this, the Deputy Commissioner Of Police revealed that they have seized a small amount of marijuana and seven MDMA tablets from a dustbin. He was quoted to reveal, “We have collected the CCTV footage and are going through it as we suspect they might have destroyed or disposed of the drugs. The event was open to the public.”

According to a news report in BollywoodLife, the report further added that the police officials sent samples of those suspected of consuming drugs. Amidst the six samples that were sent by the police, Siddhanth Kapoor’s sample had also turned out to be positive. However, the cops were not sure whether the alleged suspects had consumed drugs before coming to the party or while they were attending the same. Siddhanth’s father and veteran actor Shakti Kapoor had spoken to Etimes about the fiasco saying, “I can say only one thing - it’s not possible”. The actor further revealed to India Today stating, "I got to know about this news from India Today. I don’t have any idea. I don’t know anything about this. When I got up at 9 am, the news was coming that he had been detained. I have no idea. The whole family is trying to get in touch. No one is picking up the call. I don’t know what is happening.”
