Sonali Phogat's last film Prerna to be released posthumously, director to work on her biopic too

Sonali Phogat ’s tragic demise in Goa at the age of 42 shocked the entire nation. At first, it was touted to be a heart attack but later foul play was detected by the officials. While the investigation surrounding her demise is still underway, the makers of her last film Prerna have released the poster of the same. The movie will be released posthumously now after her death and will be a tribute to the late actress-politician.

Talking about the same, the poster of the movie Prerna shows Sonali Phogat’s picture wearing winter attire against the backdrop of a beautiful snow-capped locale. She can be seen holding the hand of another person with her back turned towards the camera. The movie has been helmed by Naresh Dhanda who also plays a pivotal role in the same. Naresh Dhanda revealed to ANI that Prerna is a motivational film with Sonali Phogat playing the lead role. Dhanda told the publication, “The title of this movie is Prerna. Sonali Phogat madam had the lead role in this movie, actually, it's a motivational movie. It has been shown how Sonali Phogat`s character Prerna explains to students that don`t lose courage and hope in life, move forward always.”

Apart from this, the filmmaker also said that he is also working on Sonali Phogat’s biopic as her life had seen many ups and downs for her to emerge as a successful politician and showbiz personality. Naresh Dhanda furthermore added that the late actress-politician’s daughter Yashodhara will also shoot for a special song in Prerna which will be like a tribute to her mother. He said, “The movie is ready now, but I want to shoot a song with Yashodhara which you people can see at the end of the movie which is a tribute to Sonali Phogat. Because I want to pay tribute to Sonali Phogat through this song.” Sonali Phogat had passed away on August 22 in Anjuna Goa.
