Sushmita Sen explains reasons behind not getting married, says "men in her life were let-down"

Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen is a proud single mother of two adopted girls, Renee and Alisah. The actress never got married despite being in quite a few relationships. She recently appeared on Twinkle Khanna ’s Tweak show and revealed that it was not her kids but men in her life because which she chose to stay single.

During the conversation, Twinkle asked Sushmita if adopting her kids made it difficult for her to marry or it was her conscious choice. Responding to this, Sushmita revealed that after adopting her first daughter Renee there was no man thereafter who came into her life unaware of her priorities. Although she never expected anyone to share the responsibility, she cannot step away from it as her daughter needed her till a certain age. She went on to say that he had met some interesting men but the only reason she never got married is that they were a let-down.

Further, Sushmita spoke about how her children have been very gracious and accepted men in her life with open arms. She said that her not getting married was nothing to do with her kids. Rather, her kids never made a face and gave an equal measure of love and respect to everyone. She also revealed that she almost got close to getting married thrice. “ I came close to getting married thrice but God saved me. I can’t tell you what disaster followed with their respective lives. God saved me and my kids," she added.

Last year, Sushmita broke up with her longtime boyfriend Rohman Shawl , whom she met on social media in 2018. However, they continue to remain friends. Meanwhile, on the professional front, the actress made her digital debut with the Disney + Hotstar show Aarya and received accolades for her powerful performance.
