Its been two years since Irrfan Khan ’s untimely demise left a deep void in the hearts of his fans and family. His wife Sutapa Sikdar is still dealing with the devastating loss and wondering if she did something wrong in his treatment. In a recent interview, the late actor’s wife got teary-eyed while talking about his cancer and treatment journey.

In a chat with Bollywood Bubble, Sutapa revealed that she still carries an entire log of Irrfan’s medical files. Every night, she goes through them to find out what went wrong. She still wonders if she could have done something more or if she made a mistake during his treatment. The actor died due to neuroendocrine cancer on April 29, 2020, years after his diagnosis.

Sutapa said that before Irrfan was diagnosed with cancer, he had only slight unease in his stomach. As he was to leave for a shoot, some tests were performed, which went on for 15 days until he was diagnosed with the advanced stage of neuroendocrine cancer. She said that she never appointed a nurse but herself provided 24*7 support to the actor during his treatment. She stayed by his side since he refused anybody else by his side. She added that she is coping with his death but she keeps fidgeting with his medical files to understand what went wrong.

Irrfan in his last interview had said that he only wanted to love his wife now. “What to say about Sutapa? She is there 24/7. She has evolved in caregiving and if I get to live, I want to live for her. She is the reason for me to keep at it still,” he was quoted saying to Mumbai Mirror in 2020. Besides Sutapa, the actor is survived by his two sons Babil and Ayan.

Meanwhile, Irrfan’s son Babil will take forward his legacy as he soon making his Bollywood debut. He will be seen in Anvitaa Dutt’s film Qala alongside Tripti Dimri. The upcoming Netflix film is backed by Anushka Sharma’s brother Karnesh Sharma’s production house, Clean Slate Filmz.
