Taapsee Pannu: ‘Some of the best scripts in the industry with a female protagonist come to me’

The gorgeous and spectacularly talented Taapsee Pannu is undoubtedly one of the most sought after actresses of the Hindi film industry today. She was like a breath of fresh air when she made her Bollywood debut with Chashme Baddoor . The beauty went on to win laurels for her performance in films like Pink , Mulk , Manmarziyaan and Thappad. Over the years, Taapsee has done such wonderful work that filmmakers know for a fact that she is capable of shouldering a film alone. Well, the actress is always open to do movies which have more than one actor. But she is surely enjoying the strong central roles that are coming her way right now.

In a recent chat with Indian Express, the actress shared, “I am glad that I am getting central roles, I can unabashedly say that some of the best scripts in the industry with a female protagonist come to me, and I am not going to be modest about it. People come to me and tell me ‘this is written for you’, that’s the kind of situation I have no complaints about. But it is not because I wanted to be the centre of attention but because it just so happened, maybe we can call it the snowball effect for doing the kind of films that I have done and I am happy to be where I am today. I have no complaints either way.”

Taapsee also added that she actually wants to take up multi-starrer projects, which is why she went for films like Saand Ki Aankh and Mission Mangal . She explained that it is more challenging to make the presence of a character felt when you have lesser screen time and space. This challenge excites her.
