There's a lot more to Vikram Vedha's story than Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's face-off; here's what you can expect

    The trailer of Vikram Vedha is out and the Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer promises to be a nail biting action thriller and we tell you what you can expect from the movie. Major spoilers ahead!

    Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan starrer Vikram Vedha trailer has finally arrived and painted a clearer picture about what fans can expect from the movie. A remake of Pushkar–Gayathri’s Tamil action thriller from 2017, the Hindi Vikram Vedha has replaced R. Madhavan with Saif Ali Khan as the righteous cop Vikram while Hrithik Roshan takes the place of Vijay Sethupathi as Vedha, a wanted criminal, in the movie.

    Vikram Vedha might not have a new story to tell but fans are certainly excited to see the face-off between the two heroes. The story of the film is complicated investigation about Vedha’s history as a gangster being led by Vikram, a cop who only sees things as right and wrong, as he leads the case. Apart from Hrithik and Saif’s titular characters the movie have a few more key members whose lives are closely entangles with the leads.

    The plot of Vikram Vedha involves Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) investigating a wanted gangster Vedha (Hrithik Roshan) as he surrenders after a few of his henchmen are killed by a special encounter unit formed by the police to capture him. The unit was led by Vikram’s best friend who is dead.

    Vedha who is a drug smuggler tells Vikram a story about his brother who had a bright future and how he was dragged into the world of crime because of a rival gang leader and made to smuggle drugs. When his brother on getting arrested confessed all about the gang leader’s schemes and got him arrested, the leader’s boss then issues orders to punish Vikram’s brother (played by Rohit Saraf).

    Vedha’s brother was killed by Vikram (who was unaware about the relation) and blamed for at the attack on Vedha’s henchmen by the encounter unit. As Vedha is bailed out by Vikram’s wife (Radhika Apte) who is his lawyer. The cop then tries to save his friend, the leader of the encounter unit hunting for Vedha, but finds him dead along with Vikram’s brother’s girlfriend.

    Vikram again seeks out Vikram from fighting and is told another story about how is brother helped turn his black money to white and how his girlfriend ran away with the money. Vikram reveals he was ordered to kill his brother’s girlfriend and reveals he had but two choices which included standing up for his brother and his girlfriend or carrying out his boss’s orders. He then asks Vikram to investigate his friend’s death along with the death of his brother’s girlfriend.

    As Vikram sets out to seek the killer, and realises that the orders for the death were given by Vedha’s rival gang leader. Vikram captures him and meets with Vedha again who tells him a third story which can finally help him together the whole puzzle. Vikram is made to realise how the rival gang leader bribed the whole unit including his friend who was killed by the other members of the police in trying to save Vikram’s brother’s girlfriend.

    As the cop slowly realises the depth of the whole situation, he is apprehended for letting Vedha escape. Illegal encounters were conducted by the police to lure out Vedha and then covered up and as the bribed members of the police try to kill Vikram, Vedha arrives to save the day. However, as the matter with the corrupt cops ends, Vikram and Vedha face off each other.

    Saif and Hrithik’s film will arrive in cinemas on September 30. Despite being a remake, Bollywood has high hopes from the project as the excitement of fans is palpable about this action thriller. Hrithik’s gangster side and Saif’s righteous cop avatar has been the talk of the town after the arrival of Vikram Vedha’s trailer and hopefully will translate in ticket sales in a big way.
