    India created Badminton history as the team beat Indonesia by 3-0 at the Thomas Cup finals on Sunday. The historic win for India is being widely celebrated by fans of the game in the nation and actress Tappsee Pannu who Danish boyfriend Mathias Boe serves at the coach of the Indian Badminton Team , took to social media to celebrate the big win by lauding Mr. Coach.

    For the unversed, Thomas Cup is the biggest title to be won in the sport in which men’s teams from different nations compete for the coveted trophy. While India has won it very first Thomas Cup this year, the victory is sweeter since it was against Indonesia, the 14 time Thomas Cup winning team.

    The Championship was held in Bangkok, Thailand and Taapsee who seemed to have followed the finals keenly celebrated heartily by lauding Mathia and the team on this grand victory.

    In one story, Taapsee shared a video and tagged the champions of the Indian Badminton Team writing, "Boys did it!!! First ever Thomas Cup for India!!!" In another she wrote, “Mr. Coach you made us proud @mathias.boe #FirstThomasCupWInner”

    Apart from Taapsee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to celebrate India’s big win in the championship with the nation as he wrote, “The Indian badminton team has scripted history! The entire nation is elated by India winning the Thomas Cup! Congratulations to our accomplished team and best wishes to them for their future endeavours. This win will motivate so many upcoming sportspersons.”

    The Indian Sports Ministry shortly after India’s win, announced a cash reward of Rs. 1 crore each for the members of the winning team. Sports celebrities like Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli , Sachin Tendulkar and several other bigwigs also took to social media to celebrate the Indian Badminton Team’s monumental win.
