Varun Dhawan fondly remembers Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania co-star Sidharth Shukla as ‘kind hearted, protective’

    After making it big on TV, late actor Sidharth Shukla made a smashing debut in Bollywood with Shashank Khaitan’s romantic comedy Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, alongside Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

    Late Sidharth Shukla was one of the most adored and celebrated actors of our country for various reasons such as his charming personality, acting chops and the wonderful characters he gave us to remember him by. He began his journey with television and soon became a household name with the popular series Balika Vadhu . Sidharth went on to make a deeper connection with his fans through reality shows, which gave us a chance to get to know the real him. In 2014, he also made a smashing Bollywood debut with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania .

    Starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead, the romantic comedy featured Sidharth as Angad Bedi -- Alia aka Kavya’s NRI suitor and the perfect man in every way. He left audiences impressed and made sure to steal the limelight in each scene where he appeared. Well, as the film completed 8 years, Varun fondly remembered his co-star. In a heartfelt note, he wrote: “8 years of #humptysharmakidhulania a very special film but today I remember it for the time I got to spend with sid on the film. He was kind hearted, protective and always passionate about work and friends.”

    Not just Varun but the entire country paid tribute to Sidharth as his debut film reached a new milestone. Filmmaker Shashank Khaitan , who made his directorial debut with Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, also penned a note for him which read, “8 years of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania... So much gratitude... Miss you Sid, still cannot believe you are not with us...”

    Sidharth breathed his last in September 2021, after suffering a heart attack. He bid the world a final adieu, but continues to live on in our hearts and memories.
