Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt made their Bollywood debut together with Student Of The Year in 2012. Since then the two actors have shared screen space in several movies like Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, and Kalank. They have garnered a massive fan following and even have a ‘Varia’ fan club who are in awe of their onscreen chemistry. Well, in a recent interview, Varun expressed his interest to reunite with Alia for a movie. And interestingly he has already picked a character for himself in it, which has a cute connection with Alia’s pregnancy.

Alia is expecting her first child with her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor. Taking reference from it, Varun jokingly said that he would play a nanny in his next with Alia. “She is someone who is very close to my heart, and we share incredible chemistry. You can't just make that today. We are good friends, we care for each other, and respect each other. I actually want to work with Alia again. I think it will happen, maybe sometime in the future. I will play a nanny in that, take the child on the stroller,” he told PInkvilla.

Recently, during his appearance on Koffee With Karan season 7, Varun also confessed that he takes Alia as his competition. "The only person I feel evenly closely competitive with is Alia Bhatt. As a society, we also need to start accepting that our female leads can also be bigger than heroes. With Alia Bhatt's smashing big openings, as a male actor, I seek inspiration from that and aspire to do it too as a performer,” he told the host-filmmaker Karan Johar on the show.

Meanwhile, workwise, Varun was last seen in Raj Mehta’s Jugjugg Jeeyo alongside Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor. He will next be seen in Bhediya opposite Kriti Sanon and Nitesh Tiwari’s Bawaal co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. On the other hand, Alia’s latest release Brahmastra is smashing the box office collection. Up next, she will be seen in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Ranveer Singh.
