10 years of Ek Tha Tiger: Before Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan were offered the role of Tiger?

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has worked in over 100 films in his magnificent three decade long career in Hindi cinema. He has given us several characters to gush over. But one role which stands out from the rest and is an absolute favorite till date is RAW agent Tiger, who was introduced to us 10 years ago in Ek Tha Tiger . He won us over with his charm and action sequences, while his co-star Katrina Kaif left us in awe as the badass Zoya. But did you know Salman wasn’t the first choice for Tiger?

That’s right! Not many people know that two other popular actors of the industry were considered for Tiger’s role. One of them was Greek God of Bollywood Hrithik Roshan . He was approached for the film but things did not work out. The other was Bollywood’s King and Salman’s good friend Shah Rukh Khan . The superstar liked the script when director Kabir Khan discussed it with him. However, SRK could not be a part of Ek Tha Tiger due to date issues. Well, it all worked out for the best because now fans can’t even imagine an actor other than Salman as Tiger.

At the end of Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger and Zoya eloped. But they returned to our screens five years later with the sequel, which was titled Tiger Zinda Hai. Just like the predecessor, it did wonders at the box office. Well, Salman and Katrina are now busy gearing up for Tiger 3 , which marks the next and much awaited installment in the beloved franchise. Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, the action entertainer will feature Emraan Hashmi as the antagonist this time. The film is all set to arrive in theatres next year on Eid.
