    S.S. Rajamouli ushered in a new era in Indian cinema with the Baahubali franchise. The movie went on to create new all time box office records was a product of years of dedication as the two films mounted on massive budgets, took five years to complete. Prabhas , the star of the show, gained immensely from the two films having focused singularly on the project without distractions.

    The Baahubali star who today charges nearly a hundred crore per film, had during the making of the two films invested himself completely to accomplish S.S. Rajamouli’s vision to the point that he nearly went broke.

    The first Baahubali film released in 2015 and made Prabhas the heartthrob of the nation with producers chasing after the actor, offering him enormous sums of money to sign their projects. The actor, however, had directed him team to refuse all offers and accept nothing from any producers as he was singularly focused on the sequel, Baahubali: The Conclusion.

    S.S. Rajamouli had during an interview revealed how Prabhas had to encounter financial difficulties during the making of his film because he took up no new projects during the five years the Baahubali films were being made. He had told Asian Age, “Prabhas had three consecutive hits and producers kept running after him with money but he only focused on Baahubali. It was his single-minded focus on the movie that he instructed his manager not to demand anything from producers and take anything they give. There was a time when he was stressed for money.”

    The filmmaker who shares a close bond with the actor also praised his unaverred focus and said that if it was not for Prabhas’ dedication, the films wouldn’t have been possible.

    Not just films, Prabhas also rejected hefty endorsement fees for brands. Reportedly, the actor turned down an endorsement worth Rs. 10 crores to focus on Baahubali.

    Baahubali: The Conclusion went on to break records and set the stage for the pan-Indian films that are setting the box office on fire these days. The movie has completed 5 years since its release today.
