Ajay Devgn confirms De De Pyaar De sequel, says makers are writing script

Actor Ajay Devgn confirmed the sequel of his 2019 romantic comedy-drama De De Pyaar De. The actor revealed that the film is in the scripting stage while refraining from disclosing further details.

De De Pyaar De featured Ajay alongside Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu . Written by Luv Ranjan and directed by Akiv Ali, the film revolves around a middle-aged man Ashish (Ajay) who falls in love with a woman half his age, Ayesha (Rakul). He introduces her to his ex-wife (Tabu) and children. However, they fail to accept their love relationship.

While promoting his recently released film Runway 34, Ajay spoke about the sequel of De De Pyaar De. He told Bollywood Hungama , “I think they(makers) are writing the script. Let’s see when”. The original film received mixed reviews, however, it did well at the box office grossing around Rs 100 crores worldwide.

The upcoming sequel will mark the fourth collaboration of Ajay with Rakul Preet Singh. They recently shared screen space in Runway 34 which is an aviation thriller inspired by a true story. The two played pilots who land in legal trouble after an incident on the flight. Besides it, the two actors have also signed up for Indra Kumar ’s social comedy Thank God , which also stars Sidharth Malhotra .

Apart from this, Ajay has a list of interesting projects lined up including sports drama Maidaan , Rohit Shetty ’s actioner Singham 3, Bholaa, the Kaithi remake opposite Tabu, and Drishyam 2 . On the other hand, Rakul Preet also has some amazing projects in her kitty. She will be next seen alongside Ayushmann Khuranna in Doctor G . She also has signed her first female-centric film titled Chhatriwali . Apart from these, the actress is set to feature in Mission Cinderella alongside Akshay Kumar . It is Hindi remake of Tamil movie Ratsasan .
